Caraway Seeds

how to use caraway seeds
Most people who use them at all know that caraway seeds are very good for flavoring bread, but they tend to stop there. In fact they are also excellent as an addition to just about any sponge mix, giving you a perfumed, intensely flavored cake for any occasion.

You can also sprinkle them on both sweet and savoury pastry prior to baking to add a bit of extra interest to old favorites.

I also like to grind them up and add them to any chili or curry dish I may be making. As one of the ‘mystic’ spices of the ancient Orient, caraway quickly adds a touch of the exotic to just about anything, including tea and coffee (strain before drinking). In fact, a tea made from caraway seeds is supposed to be very good for digestive disorders.
