Lid Punch jar opener

You can safely ignore the tip that suggests you cover the small hole made using this punch with a magnet. All you need is a small piece of sticky tape. I think the gadget will prove very useful for those whose grip and wrists are not as strong as they once were.

The Viatek Lid Punch jar opener is making the infomercial rounds, and so far the reviews are really good.  It works.  It simply punches a very small hole in your jar lid to release the pressure and make it easier to remove the stuck lid.

So what do you do with jars that have holes in the lids?  You cover the hole with a magnet!  This works too, but here’s the thing…you could run out of magnets before you run out of holes if you go crazy with this thing :-)   My recommendation is to only use it when you really really have to.  If you order it by calling the number on your screen, it will cost you $14.99 plus $5.95 s/h.  I’ve seen it listed elsewhere, including by several Amazon sellers, for less.
